More than 27 million buyers and sellers search for real estate agents on Realtor.com® in a year.1 When one of them lands on your profile, they may decide within seconds whether to keep reading.
A complete Realtor.com agent profile helps buyers understand who you are, where you work, and what experience you bring to their search. Starting in early September, Realtor.com will launch a new Find an Agent campaign featuring Reba McEntire, designed to bring even more in-market buyers to the platform.
Before all that attention arrives, review your profile, strengthen the details buyers use to compare agents, and make sure you are ready when a potential client clicks your name.
Complete the details buyers look for in an agent profile
A prospective buyer wants to know whether you understand their market, have worked with clients like them, and come recommended by past clients. A strong profile makes those answers easy to find.
Review the details buyers are most likely to notice:
- A current, professional headshot
- A bio that explains who you serve and where you work
- Your certifications and areas of expertise
- Recent listings and sales history
- Ratings, reviews, and client testimonials
- Accurate contact information
Complete profiles can earn up to four times more impressions and 75% more leads than incomplete profiles.1 Before the new campaign brings more buyers to Realtor.com, make sure your profile gives them a clear reason to contact you.
Show buyers your local market expertise
Use your bio to name the cities, neighborhoods, and property types you serve, along with the clients you most often help.
Instead of saying you know the local market, mention your experience with first-time buyers, relocation clients, waterfront properties, condos, or a particular group of ZIP codes. Add relevant certifications, languages spoken, and community involvement where appropriate.
Then check that your listings and recent sales support the story your bio tells. When each part of your profile points to the same areas of expertise, buyers can quickly see whether you may be the right fit for their needs.
Add reviews that strengthen your agent profile
Buyers often look to reviews for a sense of what it is like to work with you. A few recent, detailed reviews can reveal strengths, such as how clearly you communicate, how well you know the area, or how you handle a competitive offer.
Build review requests into your follow-up process. Send clients a direct link soon after closing, while the experience is still fresh, and suggest a few details they might mention, such as the type of move, the area, or a challenge you helped them navigate.
Also, review the testimonials already on your profile. Make sure they still reflect the clients and markets you want to serve.
Check your contact and lead settings
A strong profile can attract attention, but your follow-up process needs to be ready, too. Check that your phone number, email address, and preferred contact details are up to date. Then review your lead and notification settings in the Realtor.com PRO dashboard.
Test the process from a buyer’s perspective. Confirm that inquiries reach the right inbox or device and that you can respond quickly. If a team member helps you manage leads, make sure everyone knows who is responsible for the first reply.
More profile views only help your business when interested buyers can reach you easily and receive a timely response.
Increase your visibility with Local Expert
Once your Realtor.com agent profile is complete, you may want to increase how often buyers see it. Local Expert can help you stand out in targeted ZIP codes with priority placement in Agent Search, an enhanced profile, and added brand visibility across relevant Realtor.com experiences.
Start by identifying the markets where you most want to grow. Focus on the ZIP codes that align with your experience, current business goals, and ability to serve new clients. Then consider whether greater visibility in those areas could support your lead-generation strategy.
Local Expert is an optional next step, but it works best when the profile behind it is already polished, up to date, and ready to convert attention into conversations.
Get your Realtor.com agent profile ready now
Set aside a few minutes this week to view your profile as a buyer would. Fill in missing details, refresh anything outdated, request recent reviews, and confirm that your contact and lead settings are working correctly.
The September 8 Find a REALTOR® campaign will bring more attention to agents on Realtor.com, so the best time to prepare is before that additional traffic arrives.
Use the Essentials Quick Start Guide to claim or update your profile, then explore Local Expert to expand your visibility in the markets you serve.
